Fantasy Football Starts/Sits - NFL Week 7 2024 (QB, RB, WR, TE)

Writer: Noah DrouinNoah Drouin

Week 7 of the 2024 NFL/Fantasy Football season has arrived, and with the midpoint of the season approaching, we here at 4QWI are, as always, here to provide 100% correct advice or your money back. Let's get those lineups in order.

Like last year, we will go ahead and leave out the effective matchup-proof picks such as Justin Jefferson and Derrick Henry. Let's get into it.

Quarterbacks: @jvr1210

Start: Drake Maye vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (London, Sunday 10/20 @ 9:30 PM EST)

From a fantasy perspective, Drake Maye had a solid first career start, putting up 243 passing yards to go along with 3 TDs. The negatives were there as well, Drake Maye threw 2 interceptions (one not entirely his fault) along with a coughed up fumble.

This week Maye and the Patriots face off against the 1-5 Jaguars, who have allowed the most fantasy points per game to opposing QBs this year. The Jaguars have given up a second-worst 8.1 passing yards per attempt, and an NFL-worst 14 passing TDs (to go along with 1 measly interception). All in all this match-up has potential written all over it for Maye.

Drake Maye

Start: Jared Goff @ Minnesota Vikings (Sunday, 10/20 @ 1:00 PM EST)

Jared Goff has been playing relatively well the past few weeks, with roughly 600 passing yards and 5 TDs to 0 interceptions the last two weeks against the Cowboys and Seahawks. I’m a fan of riding the hot hand, especially if you find yourself with a bit less confidence at the QB position this year.

The Vikings have been a middle of the road fantasy defense against the Pass, currently ranking as the 9th toughest defense for opposing QBs to face. With the Lions and Vikings however, I expect this to be a close shootout, which should favor both Jared Goff and Sam Darnold.

Sit: Anthony Richardson (Sunday, 10/20 @ 1:00 PM EST)

The combination of Richardson missing the past two games to an oblique injury and Joe Flacco putting together much better games with the same product for the Colts in Richardson’s absence doesn’t inspire a whole lot of confidence in him for me this week. In his last two fully healthy games prior to his injury, Richardson had a TD-to-INT ratio of 1 to 5, with most of his fantasy points coming from his running game.

Combine this with the fact that the Dolphins have been the best fantasy defense against opposing QBs (allowing a second-lowest 801 passing yards, and the NFL's lowest 3 passing TDs thus far) and I’d let Richardson sit on your bench another week unless you are desperate.

Sit: Aaron Rogers @ Pittsburgh Steelers (SNF, 10/20 @ 8:20 PM EST)

Aaron Rogers looks a lot like a quarterback, who is the oldest player in the league, coming off of a devastating Achilles injury. Yes, he now has Davante Adams back, who brings to the Jets a talented WR Rogers has tons of chemistry with. It could take Adams a game or two to settle in, and I do think there are brighter things to come for Rogers and the Jets. I just don’t believe this week is the week for it. This week the Jets will face the Steelers, whose defense has racked up 14 sacks and boast a 7 to 7 TD to INT ratio thus far this year. TJ Watt and company will be breathing down the neck of an inconsistent Rogers and Jets offense, likely spoiling the Davante Adams debut. Running Backs: @Endydoe

Start: Brian Robinson Jr. and Austin Ekeler vs. Carolina Panthers (Sunday, 10/20 @ 4:05 PM EST)

Can't go wrong this Washington Running Backs this week. The Commanders have had great success on the ground thus far, averaging 157.3 rushing yards per game, and the Panthers have allowed the 3rd most rushing yards and single most rushing touchdowns this season (12). As of writing (Friday), Robinson is dealing with a knee injury that left him unavailable last week versus the Ravens, but according to Commanders Head Coach Dan Quinn, BRJ is "trending in the right direction". If he plays, Robinson is an easy RB2 this week in any format, and Ekeler is worth a PPR Flex spot with some potential upside available. If Robinson doesn't play, Ekeler is a fantasy RB2 candidate, and 3rd stringer Jeremy McNichols may be worth that Flex spot in deeper leagues. Like I always say, the proof is in the matchup and however the Commanders backfield looks on Sunday, there is some great fantasy potential here.

Start: J.K. Dobbins @ Arizona Cardinals (MNF, 10/21 @ 9:00 PM EST)

Dobbins is finally enjoying a healthy season ( fingers crossed) for the first time since his rookie season, and he enters Week 7 as a Charger against the porous Arizona Cardinals defense. Dobbins is currently averaging 5.4 yards per carry, good for 8 amongst qualified Running Backs this season. Meanwhile the Cards have allowed the 4th most rushing yards this season with 918, along with 8 ceded rushing touchdowns, which is tied for 4th most in the NFL. Dobbins is a fantastic borderline RB1 action on Monday Night Football this week.

J.K. Dobbins

Sit: Any New York Giants RB vs. Philadelphia Eagles (Sunday, 10/20 @ 1:00 PM EST)

The Giants RB room situation has become increasingly interesting with 2024 newcomer Devin Singletary being rather up and down in production, along with a groin injury giving way to Tyrone Tracy to get meaningful reps in recent games. That context means trouble discerning what split the two will take on Sunday's game against the Eagles who are in themselves a tough matchup; as they have only allowed 3 rushing touchdowns all season, along with the 9th least rushing yards. If you have depth to spare, leave Singletary and Tracy stashed on your bench and see how that tandem develops this week.

Sit: Nick Chubb vs. Cincinnati Bengals (Sunday, 10/20 @ 1:00 PM EST)

My weekly "don't take the bait" suggestion is here, as Nick Chubb is slated to return to his first regular season NFL action since his 2023 Week 2 injury, where his knee was torn and injured in multiple places. Many fantasy owners have been waiting almost half the season for this moment, but I would urge all Nick Chubb owners to exercise caution and wait just a bit longer before giving Chubb the start. Despite the obvious potential rust, Chubb surely won't be carrying 20+ times in this game, and I would imagine a reduced workload in general. The Bengals are on paper a solid matchup for Chubb, but it just isn't the right time yet.

Wide Receivers: @BreTT_Shevlin

Start: Marvin Harrison Jr vs. Las Angeles Chargers (MNF, 10/21 @ 9:00 PM EST)

Breaking: Marvin has officially cleared concussion protocol. Start him because he is going to be fed with targets. The Cards are at home and I’m sure Kyler’s been missing his #1 guy.

Start: Jerry Jeudy vs. Cincinnati Bengals (Sunday, 10/20 @ 1:00 PM EST)

After the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills striking a deal for Amari Cooper, it leaves Jerry Jeudy as the top receiver on the team. Amari Cooper amounted for 25% of the teams targets so Jeudy should benefit from those extra looks. It’s still Deshaun Watson throwing the football unfortunately, but if Jameis Winston comes in watch out!

Jerry Jeudy

Sit: Garrett Wilson @ Pittsburgh Steelers (SNF, 10/20 @ 8:20 PM EST)

Yea this one’s unfortunate for Wilson owners as Rodgers has just found another new toy to play with in the likes of Davante Adams. The Pittsburgh Steelers have a good secondary as well and the Jets have struggled to score points so overall just a bad combination of things this week lead to me benching Garrett Wilson until further notice.

Sit: George Pickens vs. New York Jets (SNF, 10/20 @ 8:20 PM EST)

Pickens vs Sauce Gardner all day will be very entertaining to watch, but I think we all know who wins that matchup 10/10 times. Huge sit.

Tight Ends: @BreTT_Shevlin

Start: David Njoku vs. Cincinnati Bengals (Sunday, 10/20 @ 1:00 PM EST)

Hopefully as I said earlier with Jerry Jeudy, David Njoku can eat into that Amari Cooper target pie and now that he seems to be freed of injury woes, he should be a huge red zone threat going forward. The offensive line in Cleveland has struggled in pass protection, but Njoku has always been good in the short area of the field so he should put up decent numbers in ppr leagues.

Start: Cade Otton vs. Baltimore Ravens (MNF, 10/21 @ 8:15 PM EST)

MNF and this seems like a spot where Baker cooks. The Ravens are ranked 30th against Tight Ends this season and Otton has seemed to grow favor in the offense of late with 27 targets the past 4 weeks.

Cade Otton

Sit: Dalton Kincaid vs. Tennessee Titans (Sunday, 10/20 @ 1:00 PM EST)

Surprisingly as bad as the Tennessee Titans are they are apparently good at one thing and that’s covering the Tight End position as they allow the fewest points to the position. With Josh Allen just not really playing to his potential so far and add onto that him just acquiring a new weapon I don’t like Kincaid this week and I’m sure you can find other options elsewhere.

Sit: Tucker Kraft vs. Houston Texans (Sunday, 10/20 @ 1:00 PM EST)

Kraft has a tough test against a good Texans squad and my concern is there’s just too many playmakers at Jordan Love’s disposal that Kraft will get lost in the shuffle this week. I could be wrong, but I could be right so listen to me if you feel like I guess.
