Fantasy Football Start/Sits: NFL 2026 Week 8

4 min read

Week 8 of the 2026 NFL season is here and we are right on the cusp of being halfway done with the regular season. Enjoy this while it lasts, because in six months from now, you're gonna wish you could watch the Browns and the Titans. But while the season remains alive, so does your fantasy season and we here at 4QWI are here to give you some more lineup advice with BYEs, injuries and the like all happening at once.

The way we go about this weekly article is: several 4QWI staff members select one player from the major fantasy football positions to write about, whether it be starting or sitting them. We don't communicate at all, and at times there may be some overlap of advice, or even disagreements about the same player. Of course, we will generally avoid the obvious no-brainer starts every week such as Josh Allen and Jahmyr Gibbs. With that, let's get going.

Quarterbacks:

(@spechty49) Sit: Patrick Mahomes @ Denver Broncos

Sunday, 11/1 @ 4:05 PM EST

The slump continues. Zero TDs and 2 picks since week 6 is a tough look. Add in the Broncos defense who has 8 picks in 7 games… it’s tough to imagine Mahomes getting much in terms of production. He’s not the absolute surefire stud he used to be. So I would let him ride the bench if you have better options.

(@BreTT_Shevlin) Sit: Jared Goff vs. Minnesota Vikings

Sunday, 11/1 @ 1:00 PM EST

Goff has been playing excellent football, but this week presents his toughest test yet. Minnesota has been the stingiest defense against fantasy quarterbacks, allowing just three passing touchdowns all season. In Week 17 last season, Goff completed just 18 of 29 passes for 197 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in a 23–10 loss to Minnesota. He also lost three fumbles and was sacked five times so history suggests Goff could be in for another long day against Minnesota’s aggressive defense, making him a risky start in Week 8.

Running Backs:

(@BreTT_Shevlin) Sit: Quinshon Judkins @ Pittsburgh Steelers

Sunday, 11/1 @ 1:00 PM EST

Judkins is coming off his best performance of the season, rushing for 96 yards and two touchdowns against Tennessee. However, I’m expecting a much tougher afternoon against Pittsburgh. The Steelers have allowed the seventh fewest rushing yards on the season, making it difficult for running backs to find consistent room on the ground. Judkins should continue to see a healthy workload but could be losing touches to a returning Dylan Sampson (at least in passing downs) making him a risky play for this week.

(@spechty49) Start: Blake Corum vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Sunday, 11/1 @ 4:05 PM EST While not a clear #1 back there is plenty of value in playing Corum over the last few weeks. Over the last 3 weeks he only trails Kyren Williams by 16 carries and 11 yards. Corum also has one more score than Williams. So the production is similar on less tries. Against the sad, gross, and hard to watch Chargers… I expect the ball to be run a lot by both backs.

Wide Receivers:

(@spechty49) Start: Treylon Burks vs. Philadelphia Eagles

SNF, 11/1 @ 8:20 PM EST

Need a guy in a pinch?? Desperate? Whole team on IR? Treylon Burks is owned in 6 percent of ESPN leagues. He has been seeing an uptick in targets already and now McLaurin is out for the year. This has a potential to be a decent flex option on deeps leagues. Over the last 3 games Burke has seen increasing targets every game. In their last outing, he was second in receptions and tied for 1st in targets. So give him a look against a 30th against WRs.

(@BreTT_Shevlin) Start: DJ Moore vs. Baltimore Ravens

Sunday, 11/1 @ 1:00 PM EST

I’m buying into DJ Moore this week, especially with Buffalo coming off its bye. Moore has been sidelined for the past two games with a shoulder injury, but his return to practice is an encouraging sign. In the two games he was healthy enough to play a full workload, he recorded 11 receptions for 167 yards and a touchdown on 18 targets.

The matchup is also appealing. Baltimore has been one of the more generous defenses against fantasy wide receivers, creating an opportunity for Moore to make an immediate impact. With Josh Allen under center and a potentially high-scoring matchup on the schedule, Moore has legitimate WR2 upside if he’s cleared to play.

(@Endydoe) Start: Ryan Flournoy vs. Arizona Cardinals

Sunday, 11/1 @ 1:00 PM EST

Ryan Flournoy has actually been a pretty sneaky flex-caliber player over the past few weeks, with 14 catches for 200 yards and a touchdown over that span. Normally, in an offense including CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, recommending a third receiver to start wouldn't be a great idea, but the Cowboys are of course a pass-happy team with Dak Prescott at the helm, as he is averaging 39 pass attempts per game. The matchup is a great one as the Cowboys host the Arizona Cardinals: a team that has given up the 12th most fantasy points to WRs on the season, including 17 passing touchdowns. In 12-team leagues, Flournoy truly has a case in my eyes. With recency in mind, if there was ever a week to try Flournoy out, it'd be this one.

Tight Ends:

(@Endydoe) Start: Hunter Henry @ Miami Dolphins

Sunday, 11/1 @ 4:25 PM EST Tight End guy here. Henry has been slowly creeping up the TE tiers over the past month with four straight strong performances totaling 19 catches for 225 yards and 2 touchdowns. Not to mention he has also caught almost every target in that span (21 total targets). This week, Henry figures to put together another startable fantasy performance as he and the Patriots travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins. The Dolphins have allowed the third most points to opposing TEs this season, and in a game where the Patriots look to get back in the W column, Henry should see yet another double digit fantasy performance in his future.
