Fantasy Football Start/Sits: NFL 2026 Week 7

6 min read

The NFL season is entering its halfway point and we here at 4QWI are back yet again to suggest some suggestions that suggest a good week for your fantasy team as you try to remain in your league's playoff race. This season has seen injuries, surprise risers and disappointing performances relative to ADP and we've got some names here we certainly didn't think we'd ever suggest either as a start or a sit.

The way we go about this weekly article is: several 4QWI staff members select one player from the major fantasy football positions to write about, whether it be starting or sitting them. We don't communicate at all, and at times there may be some overlap of advice, or even disagreements about the same player. Of course, we will generally avoid the obvious no-brainer starts every week such as Josh Allen and Jahmyr Gibbs. With that, let's get going.

Quarterbacks:

(@Endydoe) Start: Kyler Murray vs. Indianapolis Colts

Sunday, 10/25 @ 1:00 PM EST

With a BYE behind them and extra rested, Murray and the Vikings host the struggling Colts on Sunday and I actually like him as a QB option this week with injuries hitting many at the position and typical weekly starts such as Josh Allen, Jayden Daniels and Trevor Lawrence on the BYE.

Murray has looked alright as the QB for Minnesota, and we’re starting to see him use his legs once again as he ran for over 50 yards for the first time this season against the Saints in his last game to go with 229 passing yards and a touchdown. Murray’s ability to be a dual threat has kept him as a viable fantasy option over his career and the Saints game was our first indication of that aspect of him returning. The Colts currently rank 22nd in fantasy points allowed to opposing Quarterbacks, but that ranking would be a bit worse if they didn’t have just have a game against the Titans last week that bolsters their ranking as a D/ST against the QB (even though they somehow lost the game).

If your typical starting Quarterback isn’t playing this week, Murray is a serviceable spot start.

(@jvr1210) Sit: Patrick Mahomes @ Seattle Seahawks

SNF, 10/25 @ 8:20 PM EST

Mahomes 2026 season is off to a pretty good start. Prior to his week 6 match-up against the Chargers, Mahomes had thrown multiple touchdown passes in each of his first 4 games and last week he still managed to put up 272 yards, he just didn’t find the endzone while Kenneth Walker continued to shine for the Chiefs. This week Mahomes faces a Seahawks defense that has allowed the second fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. This week the Chiefs will likely be without Rashee Rice and Cyrus Allen, and Travis Kelce is listed as questionable (but will likely play, just not quite at 100%). Not to mention the Chiefs are playing in Seattle which is a whole different beast compared to playing them at home.

I’d expect the Chiefs to heavily rely on Kenneth Walker again this week in his Seattle homecoming. The Seahawks defense has been much easier on the running game than their passing defense. Combine this with the injuries to the Chiefs receiver corp and you should be sitting Patrick Mahomes this week.

(@BreTT_Shevlin) Start: Aaron Rodgers vs. New Orleans Saints

Saint-Denis, France, 10/25 @ 9:30 AM EST

The old man is still cooking. Rodgers has thrown 11 touchdowns over his last four games and now gets a Saints defense that’s been getting carved up through the air. With several big-name QBs on bye, Rodgers has a legitimate shot at another QB1 finish. Start him and let 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers throw another three touchdowns like it’s 2020.

Running Backs

(@BreTT_Shevlin) Sit: Saquon Barkley vs. Dallas Cowboys

MNF, 10/26 @ 8:15 PM EST Saquon might finally be back, but that doesn’t mean we’re ready to throw him straight into the lineup. He’s coming off a hamstring injury, hasn’t scored a touchdown this season and now has Tanner McKee under center. Dallas is a favorable matchup, but the biggest question is how much Philadelphia is actually willing to put on Barkley’s plate. Until we know he’s back to being THE guy, we’re keeping Saquon on the bench.

(@jvr1210) Start: Ollie Gordon II @ New York Jets

Sunday, 10/25 @ 1:00 PM EST

Ollie Gordon II has been quite productive since De’Von Achane went down for the season with a torn ACL, rushing for 229 yards (5.2 yards per attempt) and 3 touchdowns over his last three games as the starter. I see no reason why Gordon wouldn’t continue to get the bulk of the carries for the Dolphins, who have been leaning heavily into the running game this year. This week they play the Jets who currently rank 20th in the league against opposing RBs (although to give the Jets some credit a lot of their points have been allowed to Jahmyr Gibbs). Assuming the volume stays the same this should provide Gordon with a good opportunity to further solidify his role as the lead back and star of the Dolphins offense.

Wide Receivers:

(@jvr1210) Start: Matthew Golden @ Detroit Lions

Sunday, 10/25 @ 4:25 PM EST

If you own Matthew Golden and are not starting him then do you really want to win? The second-year wide receiver is off to a great start recording 30 receptions for 501 yards and 3 touchdowns through his first 6 games of the season, which is good enough to place him in the top 10 fantasy wide receivers so far this year. This week the Packers and Golden will play the Detroit Lions who have been getting absolutely scorched by opposing wide receivers this season. So long as the shoulder isn’t bugging Golden too much this week should be another golden opportunity for him to shine.

(@BreTT_Shevlin) Start: Germie Bernard vs. New Orleans Saints

Saint-Denis, France, 10/25 @ 9:30 AM EST

Sometimes the fantasy gods just hand you a lineup decision. Bernard saw 12 targets last week, turning them into 11 catches, 87 yards and a touchdown. With Pittsburgh’s receiving corps banged up, the opportunity is there for Bernard to become a legitimate part of this offense. We’re not expecting 11 catches every week, but when a guy is getting this kind of volume, you don’t need to overthink it. Start Bernard and see what happens.

(@Endydoe) Start: Jameson Williams vs. Green Bay Packers

Sunday, 10/25 @ 4:25 PM EST

This one is based on a combination of feels, vibes and recent performance. Jamo has been a total boom or bust option as per usual, especially in the past two weeks. Two weeks ago he caught six passes for 102 yards, and in the Lions’ final game before the BYE, he caught two of four targets but turned those both into touchdowns.

A fun NFC North matchup awaits us on Sunday afternoon as Williams and the Lions host the Packers. I think this game is going to be a battle of Love and Goff SLINGING it. In Green Bay’s last game, I saw Jordan love throwing way downfield on the perimeter to Christian Watson and Matthew Golden. It’s clear that Green Bay’s identity without a good rushing attack has turned them into a hard pass-first team. Even with Josh Jacobs potentially playing this week, the Packers will be forced to go band for band with the Lions.

The Packers are a softer matchup for Jameson, as they’ve allowed 150 yards to opposing Wide Receivers three times and just allowed the Cowboys WRs to collectively have a 22/183/1 line against them. I expect Williams to be good for a couple of big plays in a game that could see both teams score in the high 20s to low 30s. I think he’s a very solid flex option in this divisional matchup.

Tight Ends:

(@Endydoe) Start: Tyler Higbee @ Las Vegas Raiders

Sunday, 10/25 @4:25 PM EST

Tight End guy here. With Davante Adams out with an injury, pass catchers not named Puka Nacua need to step up ASAP and try to help this struggling team. Higbee, even before Adams’ injury, was actually stringing together strong fantasy performances, and even though last week versus the Cardinals wasn’t anything special, he still caught four of four targets for 22 yards. In Weeks 3 through 5, Higbee posted 18 catches for 212 yards.

The Raiders matchup helps further as they are allowing the seventh most points to opposing Tight Ends this season. The Rams’ TE room is a bit cramped and will be even more so once Terrance Ferguson is activated off the IR in the next week or so. However, there is a good case to stream Higbee this week.
