Fantasy Football Start/Sits: NFL 2026 Week 6
Welcome back to 4QWI's weekly fantasy football starts and sits. This week we've got just Austin and Brett holding down the fort with some advice to get your lineups looking the best they can this week. Let's get into it.
The way we go about this weekly article is: several 4QWI staff members select one player from the major fantasy football positions to write about, whether it be starting or sitting them. We don't communicate at all, and at times there may be some overlap of advice, or even disagreements about the same player. Of course, we will generally avoid the obvious no-brainer starts every week such as Josh Allen and Jahmyr Gibbs. With that, let's get going.
Quarterbacks:
(@austinkh0ury) Sit: Jacoby Brissett @ Los Angeles Rams
Sunday, 10/18 @ 4:05 PM EST
I never thought this day would come, but prior to last year I never thought I would ever say to start this guy, so here we are. In week 6, sit Jacoby Brissett, even in points per completion leagues. Facing a stout Rams defense that has at least one interception in 4 of the last 5 games facing some elite offenses in the Bills, Eagles (they were healthy when playing Rams), Denver and the 49ers, I think the Rams are going to feast on the Cardinals’ passing attack this week, especially considering the offloading of Marvin Harrison Jr. The Rams’ secondary can really focus on Michael Wilson and Trey McBride, and although I still expect these guys to get some looks, with the amount of passing attempts Brissett has to make per game to keep his team competitive, I expect there to be a lot of pass breakups, a few INT’s, but most importantly, I think Brissett eats a lot of dirt this week. You should probably start the Rams D/ST and sit Jacoby Brissett this week. There, I said it.
(@BreTT_Shevlin) Start: Jordan Love vs. Dallas Cowboys
SNF, 10/18 @ 8:20 PM EST
Jordan Love is coming off arguably his best performance of the season, and Week 6 gives him a matchup that could keep the momentum rolling. Love shredded the Bears for 367 yards and two touchdowns in Week 5 while completing 25 of 31 passes. The biggest reason to like Love, though, is the game environment. Packers-Cowboys currently carries a 53.5 point over/under, one of the highest totals of the week, with Dallas’ offense capable of forcing Green Bay to keep throwing. Dallas has also allowed 21.5 fantasy points per game to opposing QBs. With 4 teams on a bye this week I’d feel more than comfortable inserting Love into my lineup.
Running Backs:
(@BreTT_Shevlin) Sit: Omarion Hampton @ Kansas City Chiefs
Sunday, 10/18 @ 4:25 PM EST
Omarion Hampton is a tough sit because the talent is obvious, but the usage simply isn’t there right now. In Week 5, Hampton played just 31.7% of the Chargers’ offensive snaps and managed only 2.4 yards per carry. Even more concerning, he ran just two routes, making him almost entirely dependent on rushing volume. The bigger issue is that Hampton’s projected workhorse role has now become a 3 person committee. Kimani Vidal and Keaton Mitchell have taken over much of the passing game work, leaving Hampton as more of an early-down back. That’s a brutal fantasy profile when you’re not getting efficient rushing production. With the Chiefs being pretty good at stopping the run, Hampton is nothing better than TD or bust this week.

(@austinkh0ury) Start: Dameon Pierce vs. Carolina Panthers
Sunday, 10/18 @ 4:05 PM EST
Are you desperate for a RB to put up more than 8 points for you this week? ME TOO. And that is why I am starting Dameon Pierce against the Panthers in Week 6. I know what you’re probably thinking.. “WHO?”, and honestly, that’s kind of mean, but I totally understand where you’re coming from. I have no idea who Pierce is, but what I do know is that he is on a team that has 0 healthy RB’s. As of right now, Saquon is questionable but seems to be trending closer to out, and Will Shipley is listed as doubtful. If both of these guys miss week 6, that leaves Dameon Pierce to take on backfield duties against the NFL’s 31st ranked rushing defense. The Eagles have had injury woes at every skill position so far this season and are desperate for somebody to make some big plays happen, and Dameon Pierce is best positioned to be that somebody for them. Last week on 11 carries, Pierce was only able to churn 14 yards on the ground, but that was against a tough Jaguars defense. Obviously Pierce comes with a lot of risk, but he also comes with a lot of potential, and in fantasy, sometimes, you gotta take risks. Pierce is a prime flex play this week.
Wide Receivers:
(@austinkh0ury) Start: Luther Burden/Rome Odunze @ Atlanta Falcons
Sunday, 10/18 @ 1:00 PM EST
Odunze has been off to a disappointingly slow start this season, however much of this can be attributed to the ambiguity at the Quarterback position for Chicago. Week 6 looks like the week where Williams may make his return to the gridiron, and if he does, I expect him to be leaning more on the pass than his scrambling ability, given that he is recovering from a torn hamstring. Combining this with the Falcon’s porous pass defense that ranks 27th in the league, I think the Bears passing attack is going to flourish in this week 6 matchup, IF Williams returns. If Williams sits out again, I would fade all Bears’ receivers back to the bench unless you’re desperate for a flex play amidst the bye week.
(@BreTT_Shevlin) Sit: Garrett Wilson @ New England Patriots
Sunday, 10/18 @ 1:00 PM EST)
This is less about Garrett Wilson and more about Christian Gonzalez being a DAWG. Gonzalez says he’s ready to return from his shoulder injury, and if he plays, the Patriots are expected to put him on Wilson. In their first three matchups, Gonzalez has covered Wilson for 51 routes and allowed just 8 catches for 72 yards and a touchdown. That’s a pretty damn good track record against one of the league’s best receivers. The matchup is especially concerning because New England plays man coverage at the third-highest rate in the NFL, and Wilson has actually been much more productive against man coverage this season. So normally, that’s a good thing—but Gonzalez is exactly the kind of corner you don’t want seeing him in man all afternoon.
