Fantasy Football Running Back Starts/Sits - NFL Week 11 2024

Shoutout to 4QWI staff Jay Rooney for coming through with some start/sits. Apologies for other positions missing; busy week for us here at 4QWI. We'll be better next week :) With that said, Jay's got some solid Running Back start/sit suggestions for your lineup this week. Like usual, we will go ahead and leave out the effective matchup-proof picks such as Justin Jefferson and Derrick Henry. Let's get into it.

Start: Kareem Hunt @ Buffalo Bills (Sunday, 11/17 @ 4:25 PM EST)

With Isaiah Pacheco not quite ready to go yet, Kareem Hunt will get the start again for the Chiefs in a key game against the 8-2 Bills. In his 6 starts for the Chiefs, Hunt has scored at least 13 PPR points in 5 of his 6 games. Last week against Denver, Hunt played a key role in the passing game, recording 7 receptions for 65 yards. Hunt should remain a key part of the Chiefs offense against the Bills who have allowed an NFL 5th-worst 4.9 yards per carry and have allowed the 2nd most points to opposing running backs in fantasy football. Hunt should remain a solid starter this week as the Chiefs look to defend their undefeated record.

Start: Nick Chubb @ New Orleans Saints (Sunday, 11/17 @ 1:00 PM EST)

With three games under his belt and now a bye week Chubb should be a fresh and prepared as he has been since returning from his devastating knee injury. Chubb has only scored double-digit points in one of his match-ups where he found the endzone in his first game back. This week has breakout potential written all over it. The Saints have allowed the 5th most rushing yards in the NFL this year, the second-most yards per carry with 5.2, and the 4th most rushing touchdowns this year. With Chubb more of a pure runner than a receiving back, and the Saints being consistently bad against the run this year, this week seems as good as any for Chubb to have a breakout performance.

Sit: Najee Harris vs. Baltimore Ravens (Sunday, 11/17 @ 1:00 PM EST)

Najee Harris largely struggled in week 10 against the Commanders rushing for 53 yards on 21 carries, with the saving grace being Harris’s rushing TD. Harris has been pretty solid this year, but there are a few things that scare me this week. Harris has been dealing with an ankle injury that could have held back his production in week 10. Jaylen Warren has been playing a larger role than Harris in the passing game with Warren seeing 8 targets over the Steelers last three games to Harris seeing only 5 targets. Lastly, the Ravens have consistently been one of the best defenses against the run game as they have allowed the last yards per carry, with opposing running backs averaging 3.4 yards per carry. It’s a bit of a tough week to justify starting Harris if you have other options.

Sit: J.K. Dobbins vs. Cincinnati Bengals (SNF, 11/17 @ 8:20 PM EST)

The return of Gus Edwards turned in one of the worst performances of the season for J.K Dobbins, who only scored 8.5 points in PPR formats last week. J.K Dobbins saw 15 carries which he turned into 55 yards. Gus Edwards was more efficient on fewer carries with 10 carries for 50 yards. The potential exists from the carry share to become more even for Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins which could significantly impact Dobbins value the rest of the way. The Bengals have been fairly solid against the run this year except for their two match-ups against the Ravens and Derrick Henry and their matchup against the Eagles and Saquon Barkley. It might still be worth starting Dobbins this week but be cautious and continue to monitor his productivity and carry share with Gus Edwards moving forward.
