Welcome to Week 2 of 4QWI staff Pick'ems - a blog series in which a panel of 4QWI staff and friends come through to predict three spicy NFL Games per week, with standings being kept all season. Along with this article, our Fantasy Football Week 2 Starts & Sits for all positions are out on the website right now, so be sure to check that out and get your lineups right.
With that, let's jump in with a recap from last week:
Week 1 Matchup 1: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Atlanta Falcons
Noah: Steelers
Brett: Steelers
Kevin: Falcons
Specht: Falcons
Austin: Falcons
Jay: Falcons
Big D: Falcons
Week 1 Matchup 2: Dallas Cowboys @ Cleveland Browns
Noah: Cowboys
Brett: Browns
Kevin: Cowboys
Specht: Cowboys
Austin: Cowboys
Jay: Browns
Big D: Cowboys
Week 1 Matchup 3: New York Jets @ San Francisco 49ers
Noah: 49ers
Brett: 49ers
Kevin: 49ers
Specht: 49ers
Austin: 49ers
Jay: 49ers
Big D: Jets
That brings our current standings to: Noah: (3-0)
Brett: (2-1)
Kevin: (2-1)
Specht: (2-1)
Austin: (2-1)
Jay: (1-2)
Big D: (1-2)
Now, let's see what matchups are on our radar this week: 1) Indianapolis Colts @ Green Bay Packers (Sunday, 9/15 @ 1:00 PM EST)
A matchup that unfortunately may be less enticing now has the Colts traveling to Green Bay to take on the Packers. Despite Malik Willis very likely starting for Green Bay, the Lambeau advantage and general talent on the Packers roster can’t make this a sure shot necessarily (though all of us may tend to agree).
Noah (3-0): Colts
Brett (2-1): Colts
Kevin (2-1): Colts
Specht (2-1): Colts
Austin (2-1): Colts
Jay (1-2): Colts
Big D (1-2): Colts
2) Seattle Seahawks @ New England Patriots (Sunday, 9/15 @ 1:00 PM EST)
Well this should be interesting! After holding the Bengals at bay in Cincinnati, the Patriots have a realistic opportunity to begin their season 2-0, but do not have the easiest opponent. The Seahawks visit Foxborough as a scrappy sneaky wild card level team that just beat the Broncos to open their season. Kenneth Walker is likely to miss the game and that should be factored in. This should be a grit and grind type of game. This panel of Patriots diehards (including yours truly who will be at Gillette for the game) has a few of us trending towards hope for this team while we still can.
Noah (3-0): Patriots
Brett (2-1): Seahawks
Kevin (2-1): Patriots
Specht (2-1): Patriots
Austin (2-1): Patriots
Jay (1-2): Seahawks
Big D (1-2): Seahawks
Los Angeles Rams @ Arizona Cardinals (Sunday, 9/15 @ 4:05 PM EST)
The Cardinals may be a bit better than we all assumed after having played the Buffalo Bills extremely tough last week, nearly taking the dub. Scoring 28 points off of one Marvin Harrison Jr. reception makes you wonder what this team could look like once this generational rookie hooks up with Kyler Murray proper. The Rams for their part lost a close game to the Super Bowl-hopeful Lions, and are now missing Puka Nacua for the next 4 weeks minimum. That said, this is still a talented team that shouldn’t be counted out as long as Matthew Stafford has Cooper Kupp.
Noah (3-0): Rams
Brett (2-1): Rams
Kevin (2-1): Cardinals
Specht (2-1): Cardinals
Austin (2-1): Rams
Jay (1-2): Rams
Big D (1-2): Rams
