EDITORS NOTE:
This article was written during the day of February 8, before some of the seismic trades that have occurred in the last 12 hours.
Atlanta Hawks: Matisse Thybulle
Adding a 3 and D wing to pair with the offensive firepower of Trae Young and Dejounte Murray? Yes please
Boston Celtics: Jakob Poetl
The Celtics are in win now mode and adding some Rob Williams insurance feels like a no brainer. With Al Horford’s age he can’t be relied upon for significant minutes in the playoffs
Brooklyn Nets: Pascal Siakam
The Nets need to do something to appease Kevin Durant and adding help on the interior would make sense
Charlotte Hornets: James Wiseman
This is a low risk high reward type trade for the hornets. They desperately need someone with size to lock down the middle and Plumlee is clearly not the answer. Wiseman is still raw and needs time developing but he could complement Ball nicely if he figures it out.
Chicago Bulls: Mike Conley
The Bulls could desperately use a veteran guard to lead the offense with Lonzo Ball most likely out for the season
Cleveland Cavaliers: Josh Richardson
The Cavs could really use more outside shooting and their bench unit is suspect at best. The means to acquire Richardson should be pretty cheap
Dallas Mavericks: Bogdan Bogdanovic
Bogdanovic’s floor spacing and shot creation should gel well around Kyrie and Luka. The hawks have been trying to trade Bogdanovic going back to last season
Denver Nuggets: Naz Reid
The Nuggets will need someone to eat minutes while Jokic is off the floor and Naz Reid would be a great addition to their squad
Detroit Pistons: Cam Reddish
Reddish has been linked to the pistons before and his mold would mesh nicely with the young core the pistons are putting together
Golden State Warriors: Payton Pritchard
With Steph Curry expected to miss some time adding Pritchard would be a nice addition. His 3 pt shooting has fallen off a little this year but he’s looking for a bigger role and the Warriors could give him that
Houston Rockets: Bones Hyland
Although I think Houston could benefit from a veteran presence in that locker room, Hyland is discontent with his role in Denver and has a ton of upside at just 22 years old. He should be able to carve out a role in Houston’s rebuilding roster
Indiana Pacers: John Collins
The Pacers could use a long armed wing defender who can spot up and shoot and Collins fits the mold
LA Clippers: Eric Gordon
A homecoming in store? The clippers are interested and Gordon wants to go to a contender
La Lakers: Malik Beasley
Beasley would fit in nice for the Lakers. They desperately need outside shooting and he can also lock down on the other end.
Memphis Grizzlies: OG Annunoby
It would take a lot to pry Annunoby away from Toronto but the Grizzlies are one piece away in my opinion. It would be worth the draft capital to acquire him.
Miami Heat: Jae Crowder
Since PJ tucker left in the off-season the Heat have been missing that 3 and D scrappy role player and Crowder can fill that void
Milwaukee Bucks: Bojan Bogdanovic
Bogdanovic is averaging a career high in points this season and after falling short last season this could be the piece they need to seriously challenge the Celtics in the Eastern conference
Minnesota Timberwolves: Fred VanVleet
If D’Angelo Russell is indeed on the move VanVleet would be an upgrade to a team that is desperately trying to make noise in the western conference
New Orleans Pelicans: Gary Trent Jr
The Pelicans could use some help in the backcourt alongside CJ McCollum and with the Raptors going into a rebuild this trade would make a lot of sense for both sides
New York Knicks: Josh Hart
No one really knows what the Knicks are doing at this point but adding someone like Hart who can knock down triples would be a solid addition
OKC Thunder: Moses Moody
The Thunder don’t need to make a big splash they’re still in the midst of their rebuild and have Chet Holmgren in the waiting plus an array of draft picks. If Moody is on the trade block the Thunder wouldn’t hesitate to add another young promising player to their roster
Orlando Magic: Draft picks
The Orlando magic will most certainly be sellers this deadline with the likes of Mo Bamba, Gary Harris and Terrence Ross possibly on the move the Magic should be looking for as much draft capital as possible
Philadelphia 76ers: Nerlens Noel
Noel returns to the team that drafted him as Montrezl Harrell hasn’t really been cutting the mustard and Noel would be a steady force when Embiid has to sit
Phoenix Suns: Kevin Durant
I don’t see the Nets moving on from Durant until the offseason at least but it does seem it’s where Durant wants to be and Phoenix will be aggressive in his pursuit
Portland Trail Blazers: Jarred Vanderbilt
Damian Lillard mentioned he’d like to play alongside Vanderbilt and at just 23 years old he has loads of potential
Sacramento Kings: Mo Bamba
The Kings aren’t great on the boards and block the fewest shots in the NBA. Bamba gives them a much needed precence down low
San Antonio Spurs: Draft picks
The Spurs are seeking 2 1st round picks for Jakob Poetl. If they deal for anyone it will be someone on an expiring contract so they can potentially make some free agency moves in the offseason
Toronto Raptors: Nic Claxton
The Nets are very heavily pursuing many of the Raptors players and if they do make a deal Claxton should be on their radar
Utah Jazz: Draft Picks
Danny Ainge and the Jazz are in a full rebuild and they have many young players teams covet. It would be in their best interest to stockpile more picks
Washington Wizards: Jaesean Tate
Tate has popped up in trade rumors and the Wizards have made calls. After trading Hachimura to the Lakers, Tate would be a great replacement at the position
